Master Cleansing Process

29 July, 2022

Share with :

Master Cleansing Process

During this, you drink two glasses of salt water with lemon, followed by 2 sets of 6 exercises. Continue the process until you drink 12 to 18 glasses of water. If you want, you can empty your bowels in the meantime. The process continues until clear water is visible from the colon. Usually this process should be done in the presence of a medical professional as there is little risk involved. Salt can also increase blood pressure in practice, and this technique should not be practiced by people suffering from bleeding, various ulcers, pregnancy or menstruation. Drinking water is not completely absorbed in the stomach and intestines due to the increased osmotic pressure of salty and acidic water. So you may feel dehydrated during the process. But there's no need to just drink water because that's the opposite of what we're trying to do.

Cleaning the digestive system

Salt added to water increases the osmotic pressure in the intestine. As a result, cellular water flows from intestinal cells into the intestinal lumen. This cellular water carries with it toxins and other harmful substances that have accumulated in the intestinal cells over the years. This is called reverse osmosis, which helps remove toxins from the blood. It normalizes blood sugar and blood pressure. Additives, preservatives and food chemicals cling to the mucus in the intestinal cells. It stays together for many years and interferes with the process of enzyme secretion and food absorption. Cleansing Master helps remove this infected sticky mucus. Master cleanse helps to normalize peristaltic movement by stimulating the inner nerve plexus of the intestine and the muscles of the intestine. Since this is a serious process of the digestive system, it is necessary to give the digestive system a break by observing one of the following restrictions for the next 7 days. Do not drink milk or milk products for the next 5 days. It is not necessary to eat the fruit for the next 5 days. Spicy, oily and fatty foods that are full of fat should be avoided.

Vaman Dhauti (REGURGITIVE CLEANSING)

29 July, 2022

Vaman Dhauti (REGURGITIVE CLEANSING) -

BY DR. PRAFULLA S. DORLE

Hatha yoga Vaman dhauti helps to increase the efficiency of the abdominal muscles. When we consume a lot of water, it stretches the stomach muscles and the gastric folds (the lining of the stomach) straightens and stretches. It helps to remove excess mucus and acid secretion.

This process can clean the esophagus and stomach. It also helps get rid of trapped gas and fermented food in the stomach. For this reason, the pressure of the heart is also increased. When water becomes salty, it cannot be absorbed, instead the water, along with toxins from the blood, enters the stomach and is vomited up. So it is a process that helps with indigestion, improves digestion, improves abdominal muscle strength and restores heart pressure.

Trim your nails and wash your hands well in preparation for practicing these processes. Boil two liters of warm water and add two spoons of salt to it. Start the process by drinking warm water. Drink at least six to eight glasses of salt water and continue drinking until you feel full and heavy. It is important that you drink the water quickly and not hold it back. Then comes the urge to vomit. Lean forward and place the index, middle and ring fingers of your right hand on your mouth. Rub gently under the tongue near the throat and induce vomiting. Try to empty your stomach completely.

VYAGHRA KRIYA (TIGER PRACTICE) - It is similar to vaman dhauti but is performed when the stomach contains undigested food.

GAJA KARAN KRIYA (ELEPHANT OF ACTION) - This is an advanced form of vaman dhauti. This causes the stomach muscles to contract and increase the pressure in the stomach, causing the water to flow out of the mouth with force.

Note – Cleansing procedures should only be done under the guidance of a yoga practitioner.

Tratka -Eye Cleansing

29 July, 2022

Tratka -Eye Cleansing

BY DR. PRAFULLA S. DORLE

Hatha yoga To look deeply and see a little, the point where tears flow from the eyes is called trataka. There are two forms of tratak. The first is the bahiranga (outer) trataka and the second is the antarana (inner) trataka. Here we will only talk about strange treatments The symbol/object chosen for viewing is the candle flame because even when the eyes are closed the impression remains for a long time before the closed eyes, for other objects such as a crystal ball, yantra, chakra or even the moon, one can Trataka. Different things leave different impressions on the mind. So usually a candle flame should be used if you don't have one? guru? I recommend using something else.

To practice trataka, sit in a dark room in a meditative pose. Place the candle flame at eye level, two to three feet away. It is important that the candle flame does not flicker and remains until the exercise. Keep your eyes open and watch the candle flame continue for 5 to 10 minutes until your eyes start watering. Then slowly close your eyes and try to keep the impression of candlelight in front of your closed eyes. Create all the thoughts that come to mind. Trataka helps improve eye function. Provides relief from eye strain, headaches and myopia and early stages of cataracts.

Eyes become brighter by practicing Trataka. More importantly, .trataka has an effect on the mind and brain. It is useful in cases of depression, insomnia and also helps in increasing memory and concentration. The Trataka view limits the mind's awareness to only one immutable sense stimulus, which is the eyes. The mind is absorbed by the vision which withdraws the mind from the outside world, the thought process in the mind is stopped. Therefore, it is said that the ability to awaken the mind through the sixth sense can be enhanced with trataka, as the innate energy of the mind can be channeled into the dormant regions of consciousness.

Neti (Nasal Cleansing) Process

29 July, 2022

Neti (Nasal Cleansing) Process

- BY DR. PRAFULLA S. DORLE From Dr. Prafulla S. Dorle Hatha yoga

There are 3 types of Neti as mentioned in Hatha Yoga, let's talk about Jala Neti which is Neti with water. Prepare warm water with a little salt. Use a "neti lota" or pot. Stand with your feet apart. Tilt your head in one direction, place the neti lot nozzle on the upper nostril and let the water enter. Adjust the angle of the head so that the water flows out of the lower nostril. Prevent water from entering the throat. Practice the same procedure from the other nostril. After Jala Neti it is important to practice bhastrika or kapalbhati. Jal neti helps remove accumulated nasal mucus and impurities from the nasal mucosa. It removes obstructions from the nostrils and helps in creating proper airflow through the nostrils. It helps to improve the secretion and function of the nose, throat and ears. It opens the inner ear and Eustachian tubes as well as the nasopharynx, improves hearing and prevents ear infections. It helps to eliminate and prevent inflammation of the tonsils, allergies, coughs, colds, hay fever and others. It also helps remove accumulated mucus from the sinuses and provides relief from migraines. The nasal mucosa contains several nerve endings as well as olfactory nerves. The nasal mucosa is one of the most sensitive parts of the body. Nerve endings are part of the autonomic nervous system and jal neti provides good balance to these nerves. It also helps improve brain function, and regular exercise helps reduce anxiety, depression and other conditions that affect the mind. And what everyone wants to hear, it helps to keep the face looking young and beautiful.

Be Carefull

If you experience nosebleeds, burning or irritation of the nose, stop practicing Jal Neti. If you have a sensitive nasal mucosa, it is recommended to drip a drop of pure ghee or olive oil into each nostril the night before exercise. People suffering from deviated nasal septum should not practice Jal Neti.

Kapalbhati- Frontal lobe Cleansing

29 July, 2022

Kapalbhati- Frontal  lobe Cleansing

'kapalbhati' is one of the 'shatkarmas' mentioned in 'Gherand Samhita' and 'Hatha Yoga Pradipika'. The literal meaning of 'kapal' is skull and 'bhati' is light or shining. Thus, Kapalbhati means increasing the efficiency of the organs located in the skull. So we can say that kapalbhati improves brain function. Another name of kapalbhati is 'bhalbhati'. In the kapalbhati process, exhalation is quick and jerky, while inhalation is slow, passive and effortless. Greater emphasis is placed on exhalation processes. In natural breathing, the emphasis is on inhalation, it is active and exhalation is passive. During palpation, the processes are exactly reversed, so that exhalation is more important and inhalation is less important.

The benefits of kapalbhati can be said that it helps to clean and clear phlegm, dust, carbon particles from the respiratory tract. Physiologically, the cerebrospinal fluid around the brain is compressed and decompressed during natural breathing. This happens 14 times per minute,

which is the natural breathing rate. Emotionally, exhalation has a jerk and inhalation is passive, so compression?

The effect of decompression is improved. In addition, the process is fast, 120x per minute, which increases the effect. This massages the brain, which improves blood flow to the brain and increases brain function. The circulatory system is also affected by the contraction and relaxation of the diaphragm and abdominal muscles. When breathing, blood is pushed from the abdominal area to the heart. During inhalation, the vein returns from the legs to the stomach, and in the next phase the blood is pumped to the heart. Thus, Kapalbhati improves venous return to the heart and helps improve circulation. Apart from the benefits mentioned above, kapalbhati helps improve digestion, liver and pancreas. It also increases the strength of the abdominal muscles and diaphragm.

Cleansing techniques from Hath yoga

29 July, 2022

Cleansing techniques from Hath yoga

By Dr.Prafullo S.Dorle

Shatkarma or purification techniques are an important part of the hatha yoga tradition and are described in several hatha yoga books. There are six cleansing processes that help cleanse the body internally. It cleans our body and removes toxins, excess metabolic products and prepares the body for higher performance in yoga. As it is a cleansing process, it is not necessary to practice daily as we practice yogasana and pranayama. This should be done only when the toxins in the body increase to be removed.

The general abundance of the tridoshas according to Ayurveda ie Kafa (phlegm), Pitta (bile) and Vata (wind) are removed and the body is balanced so that the mind is calm and peaceful. Toxins in this dirty world begin to accumulate in the body from the first breath a child takes after birth. These toxins, metabolic waste products, continue to accumulate in the body as we grow. We clean the body only externally, but we neglect the internal cleansing of the body. At some point we have to clean it up inside. Nature tries to keep the inside of our body clean.

We sneeze when dust gets into our nose, we spit when we swallow something irritating or poisonous. But in this polluted world nature itself has become powerless, we must help her, we must support her to purify the body. Cleaning processes help us in this direction. Some of the cleaning processes are aimed at body systems that are directly exposed to environmental pollution. (digestive and respiratory system) These systems receive from the external environment. Certain cleansing processes help cleanse organs where waste has accumulated. E.g. Rectum and nose. Some of them are focused on the special sense organs of our body eyes (tratak - focused gaze), ears (karnarandhra - ear cleaning), nose (neti - nose cleaning), tongue (jivhamula - tongue cleaning). Some of them contribute to improving the normal functioning of the body. eg Jalabasti (Water enema) relieves constipation. Agnisar (fire stimulating technique) improves digestion

By the Process of Cleansing techniques

  • We cleanse the body of toxins and waste products of metabolism that have accumulated in the body.

  • We develop the functions of our special senses.

  • We help nature support the normal functioning of the body. So help nature to keep the inside of the body clean like a lion eats grass and vomits when his stomach hurts.

Note – Cleansing procedures should only be done under the guidance of a yoga practitioner.

Hath yoga- Nath tradition 2

29 July, 2022

Hath yoga- The nath tradtion 2

Hatha yoga Ashtanga yoga begins with Yama (social discipline - non-violence, truthfulness, celibacy, non-stealing, lack of possessions) and Niyama (self-discipline - chastity, contentment, austerity, self-study, faith). Patanjali (the founder of Ashtanga Yoga) was a contemporary of the Buddha and his teachings show the influence of Buddhist philosophy, so ethics and morality are the starting point. Interestingly, Hatha Yoga does not begin with Yama and Niyama. If you look at ethics and morality, it is nothing but a higher standard of living. These values must come from within as changes, but forcing yourself to follow them will create internal conflict rather than help you on your higher path. Those who try to follow it religiously and strongly may find themselves in troubles that create imbalance in their personality and lose their peace of mind. Many religions preach the same values, but how many people follow these guidelines? So if you want to maintain this self-discipline and self-control, you must prepare. The hatha yoga method is simple and logical. First you need to cleanse your body, there are 3 types of waste in the body, phlegm (kapha), gas (vata) and acidity (pitta). Ayurveda says that if these 3 types are balanced then perfect health can be maintained. Hatha yoga therefore recommends 6 cleansing methods to balance these bodily secrets. 6 types of Neti (nasal cleansing), Dhauti (internal cleansing), Basti (yogic enema), Nouli (abdominal massage), Kapalbhati (frontal brain cleansing), Trataka (eye cleansing) are recommended. When these 3 energies are in balance, all body systems such as respiratory, digestive, excretory, nervous system and other systems work in perfect balance. Purification techniques according to hatha yoga remove blockages in the nadis, these blockages create blockages in the flow of prana (energy) and result in various physical and mental problems. After cleansing procedures, asanas are the first step of Hatha Yoga. The pure body is then subjected to the discipline of asanas. Asana is a stable and comfortable posture essential for meditation and higher practices. The Sanskrit word asana comes from the verb 'asa' which means 'to be seated in'. Therefore a body position which is maintained for a long time can only be called "Asana". This practice in a higher posture balances the prana (vital force) of the nadis. In asanas, you subject your body to various stretches and tensions and then try to hold the position relaxed. This practice builds strength and endurance in all parts of the body. A healthy and calm body is the starting point for advanced practices. That is the purpose of asanas. The next step is pranayama, which literally means control of prana (blood force). Prana is the main force of the universe, all actions are the result of prana. The same energy also works through the body and mind. If one can control prana, then all the functions of body and mind can be controlled. So the purpose of pranayama is to control this prana. Pranayama cleanses and awakens all the chakras (centers of psychic energy). The sushumna nadi, which is the channel for the kundalini energy, awakens.

Hath yoga: Nath tradintion 1

29 July, 2022

HATHA YOGA - NATH TRADITION

Hatha yoga There are many texts on hatha yoga where we find many references to its famous tradition and the line of gurus who taught this unique and complete set of techniques for the evolution of followers. Hatha Yoga Pradipika by Swami Swatmaram, Goraksha Shatakam, Goraksha Samhita, Siddha Siddhanta Paddhati by Gorakhnath, Gherand Samhita by sage Gheranda, Yoga Taravali by Adi Shankaracharya, Hatha Ratnavali, Shiva Samhita and many other texts.

This tradition was founded by Sage Matsyendranath and his disciple Sage Gorakhnath. Matsyendranath founded the "Nath" sect and laid down spiritual guidelines for the followers. They proposed beautiful techniques from the tantras but left out the ritual part.

They systematically combine these parts to create a very logical but safe method to reach a higher state of consciousness and achieve perfection. Hatha Yoga developed between the 6th and 15th centuries AD. The practices discussed seem to have influenced the Tantras and other tantric traditions such as the Shakta tradition, the Buddhist Bajrayans, the Kapalikas, and the Kauls. Gorakhnath emphasized the values of celibacy, ethics and morals, character, noble deeds in life.

Hatha yoga became popular over time and many sects embraced the tradition and even the founders started calling Gorakhnath as their Guru. Before the rise of Hatha Yoga, there was considerable influence of the Buddha's teachings on many social sects in the Indian subcontinent. They try to follow the ethics and morals preached by the Buddha and Mahavir, the founder of the Jain religion.

Meditation systems are also practiced. But the downside of these systems is that preparation methods are ignored and behavior is preferred. The hatha yoga system deals with this problem in a logical way, creating space for body purification and mental stability before starting meditation and other higher practices. In order to learn and practice meditation, you must be physically healthy and fit.

The mind can only focus on experiencing a higher state when the body is healthy and in harmony with the mind. This became the theme of hatha yoga and the reason for its popularity. Many asanas (body positions), pranayama (breath control and posture), shat karma (cleansing techniques), mudras and bandhas (mental gestures and energy locks) are mentioned in the hatha yoga tradition. Their effects on the body and mind are magical. The techniques create a balance between body, mind and energy. Its practice helps maintain a youthful body, provides greater sensory power, awakens a higher state of consciousness, but the main goal of hatha yoga is to achieve the same higher state of samadhi, nirvana, or self-realization. Gurus have always advocated this goal.

Mudras & Bandhas in hath yoga

29 July, 2022

MUDRAS & BANDHAS IN HATHA YOGA

Mudra means a gesture that reflects a certain state of consciousness or emotion or attitude. Bandhas are energy locks used to control the flow of prana. Mudras and bandhas are very important discoveries of yogis and rishis. They use it to successfully change the state of mind, thought process, emotions and control the higher awakening of prana. Some of these mudras enable concentration of the mind, others serve to deepen awareness and awaken dormant energy or dormant potential or kundalini energy. Some mudras are described to achieve psychic powers and extrasensory perceptions.

Many mudras are described in Hatha yoga with the aim of awakening and channeling the dormant kundalini energy to reach higher states of consciousness. These mudras are described as destroyers of aging and death and realize a state of consciousness that transcends the barriers of time and space. The body is made of matter and it will change one or the other and there is no immortality in the body, but knowledge or consciousness or spirit can reach a higher dimension where there is no death and aging.

This idea related to the concept of time and the barrier of space is of interest to yogis, who describe this state as absolute freedom or immortality, the same state that the Buddha described as Nirvana or Samadhi by Patanjali. In this state, there is no barrier in time that creates the past, present, and future for the normal state of consciousness, and there is no barrier in space that binds us to a specific location in space. Its transcendence is described as a blissful and eternal state of existence in all yogic texts by many great rishis and sages.

Mudras in Hatha yoga are used for this purpose. Mudras and bandhas have a profound effect on the body and mind. They have a positive effect on the organism by bringing balance to the nervous system and the endocrine system, controlling the flow of neurons in neural networks and influencing the nervous system. When the nervous system is in balance, the endocrine system is in harmony and balance.

Different vital organs are also affected by the practice of mudras and bandhas because different mudras and bandhas concentrate the pranic energy in the area of the vital organs which regulates their function and brings more health. These techniques have a positive effect on the entire mind-body complex. They can be used to treat a variety of health conditions, illnesses and diseases. Hatha yoga mudras are recommended after mastering asanas and pranayama. Practicing mudras requires a certain level of skill, a healthy body system, a stronger nervous system, better neuromuscular coordination, the ability to concentrate.

This is achieved through asana and pranayama practices, and one can control the flow of prana and a stronger mind, which is the key to success in the study of mudras and bandhas. Prana - Vital force or life force. Mudra - A gesture that indicates a certain state of consciousness, attitude or emotion. Bandha - locks of pranic energy. Asana - Physical posture. Pranayama – control of prana or vital energy. Rishis - seers or yogis who discovered a higher dimension of consciousness. Kundalini - a dormant potential force believed to exist in all living beings and associated with higher spiritual awakening. Hatha - Ha - Sun, Tha - Moon Hatha yoga is a discipline that consists of practices such as asana, pranayama, mudra and bandha to achieve states of balance or harmony or self-realization.

Hath yoga: Science in yoga

29 July, 2022

HATHA YOGA

Hatha Yoga Pradipika is one of the most authentic textbooks of Hatha Yoga, written in 1200 AD by Swami Svátmarama, a great yoga guru who formulated the principles of Hatha Yoga and systematically explained the various techniques, their effects on the body, mind and state. consciousness. .

It is a comprehensive text on asanas, pranayama, purification techniques, mudras (mental postures or gestures), bandhas (energy locks), Nada (sound) meditation and many other instructions for following the path of yoga. Swami Swatmarama was a follower of the Natha tradition (followers of Adi Nath or Lord Shiva) taught by great Gurus like Gorakshanath and then Matsyendranath.

This is the tradition of the sages who lived in caves or the Himalayas and renounced material life who took sanyasa. Let's look at the meaning of the word Hatha, it is composed of Ha + Tha. "Ha" means Pingala Nadi (solar principle) or right nostril and "tha" means Ida nadi (lunar principle) or left nostril. Nadi means a psychic channel of energy that can be compared to the nerves of the physical body.

Hatha means the balance of the Ida and Pingala Nadis, or the balancing of the mental energy of the Ida and the Vital/physical energy of the Pingala Nadi. Ida Nadi can be compared to parasympathetic nervous system and Pingala nadi can be compared to sympathetic nervous system. Thus, the practice of hatha yoga leads to the alignment of the entire nervous system, which leads to a balance of body and mind, physical strength and mental strength.

The basic purpose of Hatha Yoga is to purify the Ida and Pingala Nadis and then unite these 2 forces in the third Psychic Nadi Sushumna, which will bring the Kundalini to the Ajna Chakra (Brow Center). Hatha yoga pradipika begins with shatkarmas or purification processes, these processes are the removal of blockages in the nadis (channels of psychic/pranic energy). A particular illness or disease is caused by a blockage of the pranic channel that supplies vital/bio-energy to the particular organ associated with the disease. Cleansing techniques will remove these energy blocks and the pranic energy will begin to flow unhindered, balancing the entire body and mind.

Cleansing is the first step of hatha yoga, once the body is free of pain, the next step is recommended and that is the asanas. The Hatha Yoga Pradipika outlines the purpose of asanas and states that "sound health, stability, lightness of body and mind can be achieved through asana". Asana results in discipline of body and mind. After asana comes pranayama, it is composed of prana + ayama, which means controlling and expanding prana as energetic energy or bio-energy. Pranayama, if practiced correctly, can cure all kinds of physical and mental ailments, also an increase in pranic energy can increase the functioning of the brain and can result in siddhi or perfection or heightened sense perception.

Pranayama is used to control mental energy and mind. But if pranayama is not done properly, it causes all kinds of diseases. So it should be done under the guidance of Guru. Pranayama is considered a quick way to awaken the kundalini. But if one is not ready to receive this high level of awakened energy, then it can have a negative effect on the mind and body. Therefore, Pranayama is always practiced under the guidance of a Guru.

Bandhas are essential for pranayama practice, Bandha means lock of energy. There are 3 main types of locks, first is Jalandhar Bandha or Chin lock, second is Moolabandha or anal lock and third is Uddiyan Bandha or abdominal lock. These locks are important when performing kumbhaka, which holds air in or out of the lungs. If Kumbhaka or retention is done without Bandha, it can adversely affect the digestive system, excretory system, nervous system, brain etc. Hatha yoga also describes mudras as gestures or mental postures that induce a state of Pratyahar (withdrawal of the senses) and lead to a powerful state of meditation.

There are many mudras discussed in Hatha Yoga which include Vajroli Mudra, Sahajoli Mudra, Khechari Mudra, Shambhavi Mudra, Viprit Karani etc.
